  アーティストの村田冬実がディレクターを務めるアーティスト・ラン・スペース「18, Murata」（東京・大井町）は、前身の「mumei」時代から（2024年に名称変更）、ギャラリー・スペースのほかレジデンスや出版物などマルチプルな活動を展開している。海外アーティストとの協働も多く、そこで培われたネットワークは同時代性を俊敏に引き受け、有機的かつスマートな広がりをみせる。美術史や写真史に付帯した美学に基づき制作される村田本人のスタイルと共に、今後の展開も期待される。

  18, Murata (Oimachi, Tokyo), an artist-run space directed by Fuyumi Murata; since its predecessor “Mumei” (renamed in 2024), operates as a gallery space as well as a place for residencies and publishing activities. Often collaborating with overseas artists, the networks cultivated through this have quickly embraced contemporaneity and have expanded both organically and smartly. Along with Murata’s own practice, which is rooted in the aesthetics attached to the history of photography and art, their future development is much anticipated.
