画家の高田マルさんが主宰する、ひとり出版社。今この時代において絵が私たちにとってどのような存在か、描くという行為はなにかをご自身の制作とあわせて、出版という形で探求・発表・流通されています。テキストが中心の書籍が多いですが造本もこだわりがあり、座談会や聞き取りなど、個別の作家や個人の絵画観や記憶を重ねていくことで、直接触ることや見ることのできない「絵」が立ち現れてきます。
Kaiga Kentosha is a publisher run solely by painter Maru Takada, who examines the role of painting and what it means to paint today through both publications and his own artistic practice. While many of its books are text-centered, their design is thoughtfully crafted. By weaving together discussions and interviews, these publications assemble artists’ perspectives on painting and their personal memories, allowing “paintings” that are intangible or cannot be directly observed to take shape through words.
