Kosho Shoppu Oshiage (Used Book Shop Oshiage) is a second-hand bookstore in Tokyo. Oshiage is known for Tokyo Skytree and is an area visited by many tourists. At Old Book Shop Oshiage, there are second-hand books of various genres and there is a joy in searching through for bargains. ※There is no actual physical store.

    東京・巣鴨を拠点にするアーティスト・ラン・スペース「4649」のメンバーで、自身もアーティストである小林優平によるヴィンテージ・ブックや印刷物の展示・販売を行なうプロジェクト「古書SHOP押上」。制作者の有名無名を問わず時代を反映した写真と広義のグラフィック・デザインに着目し、小林自身の作品にも通じる大衆文化や周縁のカルチャーとデザインや印刷との共犯関係による表現を、時代のエモーショナルなコンテクストとして現代に紹介する。

    Yuhei Kobayashi, a member of “4649”, an artist-run space based in Sugamo, Tokyo and a practicing artist himself, runs a project called “Kosho Shoppu Oshiage” (Used Book Shop Oshiage), where exhibitions and sales of vintage books and printed matter take place.
    Regardless of whether the creators are famous or unknown, the project focuses on introducing photography and graphic design that reflect the times, presenting an expression of the relationship between the surrounding popular culture and in design as well as print – that is also present in Kobayashi’s own work – as an emotional context for the times.
