I took numerous photographs in 2018, then began creating a broader range of works, including drawings, ceramics, printed works, poetry, and short videos.

Misa Asanuma’s work evolves around photography and drawing, often times shared in the medium of self-publishing. I find her work interesting as she combine those visual elements of hers with subtility and playfulness, which is underlined in each publication content but also through its form, choice of paper and printing method. There is always something intriguing to see. Her work explores the theme of the “artistic potentiality in the everyday”, an aspect that resonates in me as well.
