oar press（オール・プレス）は現代の美術に関わる人々の実践を、出版物を用いて展開するためのリトルプレスとして2022年より活動を開始。主にアーティストブックやカタログを発行しています。長い目線、広い視点で作家の活動を後押しするために出版に留まらず、ウェブ媒体での作品やテキストの連載、実空間での展示企画など、多方面でアーティストとの協働を行なっています。
Launched in 2022, oar press is a small press dedicated to supporting the practices of individuals involved in contemporary art through publications, with a primary focus on artist books and catalogues. To provide long-term and multifaceted support, the press collaborates with artists in various ways, not only through publishing but also featuring their works and writings online and curating physical exhibitions.

The oars attached to boats in the park allows us to move forward only by rowing while facing backward. Kenmoku from oar press creates books that feel like artworks themselves rather than the mere documentation. Pulling the oars alongside the artists in the same boat, she reflects on an artist’s past works while advancing toward those who have yet to encounter them. This approach results in publications with an organic quality—found only in creations that arise inevitably—which draw me in every time I pick up their new release.
