This is a booth by art director Rio Ebato and graphic designer Yumiko Tashiro. We will sell the art books that each of us has made. We are EBOOKS, and we make good books.

北京を拠点とするヴィジュアル・アーティスト ケ・シュ（Ke Xu、1994年生まれ）。主な媒体はイメージ、印刷物、レディメイドである。鑑賞と読解、知識生産と情報の拡張のあいだにある仕組みを構築することに実践の焦点を置いている。これを通して、異なる媒体のあいだを循環する概念、テキストとイメージのあいだにある想像的な空間、そこから生まれる開かれた物語を探究している。2018年、ロンドン芸術大学（University of the Arts London）キャンバーウェル校のヴィジュアル・アーツ（ブック・アーツ）修士課程をDistinctionで修了した。
Ke Xu (b.1994), Beijing based visual artist whose primary media include images, printed materials, and readymades. Her practice focuses on constructing mechanisms between viewing and reading, knowledge production and information extension. Through this, she explores circulating concepts among mediums, the imaginative space between text and image, and the open-ended narratives generated. She received a Master’s degree in Distinction in Visual Arts (Book Arts) from Camberwell, University of the Arts London, in 2018.

アートブックを制作していると、時々思いがけない嬉しい出会いに恵まれます。Keさんと仲良くなれたのも、昨年末のアートブックフェアがきっかけでした。Keさんのアートブックは、小さなアート作品のようで、1冊ごとに異なるコンセプトをスマートに表現されています。また、自費出版で制作を続けている点にも惹かれました。TOKIO ART BOOK FAIRで多くの人に紹介できることを楽しみにしています。
When making art books, we are sometimes lucky to encounter unexpected and joyful connections. Becoming friends with Ke was also thanks to an art book fair at the end of last year. Ke’s art books feel like small artworks, each one expressing a different concept in a smart way. We are also drawn to the fact that they continue to work through self-publishing. We are looking forward to introducing their work to many people at TOKIO ART BOOK FAIR.

1992年練馬生まれ。道で見つけたもの、つい描いてしまうモチーフ、気になった出来事などを組み合わせて色彩構成をつくる。近年はシルクスクリーン作品を中心に制作している。
Born in Nerima in 1992. We create colour compositions by combining things found on the street, motifs we instinctively draw, and events that catch our attention. In recent years, we have mainly worked on silkscreen prints.

水越さんとは以前TABFで席が隣になったことをきっかけに知り合い、その後も不思議な交流が続いています。水越さんのイラストは、独特な表現の中にもなぜか共感できるポイントが散りばめられていて、何度見ても飽きません。イラストとアートブックとの相性もぴったりで、様々な手法で刷られたアートブックの中には、独自のカラフルでユニークな世界が広がっています。今回またご一緒に出展できることをとても嬉しく思っています。
We first met Mizukoshi when our booths were next to each other at TABF, and since then we have had a kind of unexpected connection. There are many points in Mizukoshi’s illustrations that somehow feel relatable within their unique expression, and we never get tired of looking at them. The combination of illustration and art books suits the work very well, and within the art books printed in various techniques, a colourful and unique world unfolds. We are very happy that we can exhibit together again this time.

謎めいた「EBOOKS」に出会う前に、まずその本に出会いました。そこには、通じ合うようなユーモアと、言葉にされない精度が満ちています。SGABFで『Typeface』を見つけて持ち帰ることができたのは、とても幸運でした。その後、「I’m not good at speaking English, so let me converse with this book」というプロジェクトを知りました。機知に富んだセルフパブリッシングのガイドであり、リラックスして読むことで初めて気づくようなささやかな知恵を、親しみやすいかたちで伝えてくれます。最近のTABFでは、見知らぬ来場者が私のブースを訪れ、私の作品にあるコンセプトやユーモアに気づいてくれました。まるで本を通じて再会した旧友のように、私たちはすぐに打ち解けました。
Before meeting the mysterious "EBOOKS", I first encountered their books—filled with a knowing humor and unspoken precision. I was lucky enough to spot “Typeface” book at SGABF and bring it home. Later I discovered their project, "I’m not good at speaking English, so let me converse with this book”, a witty self-publishing guide acts as a friendly script, sharing subtle wisdom you only catch when relaxed. At the recent TABF, a stranger visited my booth and recognized the concepts and humor in my work. We connected instantly—like old friends reunited by books.

EBOOKSの素朴でくだらないアイデアがとても好きです。かわいくてホッとするのもから奇妙なものまで様々ですが、中身のゆるさに対して造本が決まっているところも魅力です。2023年のTABFで隣のブースになったことで知り合いましたが、横でずっと解説を聞いていたので私もE BOOKSの本を接客できるまでになり贅沢な体験でした。今回も楽しみです。
We really like the simple and slightly silly ideas of E BOOKS. Their work ranges from cute and comforting to something a bit strange, and it is also appealing how the bookmaking is well designed despite the looseness of the content. We met when we had neighbouring booths at TABF in 2023, and since we kept listening to their explanations next to us, we even became able to explain E BOOKS’ books ourselves, which was a very special experience. We are looking forward to this time as well.
