seep books is a small publishing project based in Tokyo.
Hoping that something can slowly spread from small things around us, like water soaking in, we make and publish books by hand.

こんにちは、東京で主に児童向けの本を作成しています。木版画、ゴム版、筆などを用いる事が多く、企画から製本までの作業を個人で行なっています。
Hello, I mainly make books for children in Tokyo. I often use woodblock prints, rubber stamps, and brushes, and I do everything myself from planning to bookbinding.

以前seep booksで制作した本の表紙のイメージを担当していただいたことをきっかけに、その印象的な世界観に注目していました。今回個展に合わせて新作を制作中とのことを聞き、実際に手に取るのが楽しみです。
We first came to know their work when they created the cover image for a book we produced with seep books, and since then we have been drawn to their distinctive world. We heard that they are currently working on new pieces for a solo exhibition, and we are looking forward to seeing them in person.

Textum Clubは、ソウルを拠点とするリサーチコレクティブで、ファッション批評、出版、そして展覧活動を行う。2020年よりリサーチを開始し、2024年より正式に活動を展開。東京を拠点とするキム・ソヒとソウルを拠点とするキム・ヨヌを中心に、テキストとテキスタイルを横断しながら実践と対話を重ねている。
Textum Club is a research collective based in Seoul. We work on fashion criticism, publishing, and exhibitions. We began our research in 2020 and officially started our activities in 2024. We are led by Sohee Kim, based in Tokyo, and Yeonwoo Kim, based in Seoul, and we continue our practice and dialogue across text and textile.

池上駅にあるDAILY SUPPLY SSSで行われていた林央子さんの”here and there reading room”で彼女のzineを購入したことをきっかけに注目していました。グループで運営されているtextum clubのHPも興味深い内容ばかりで、同じテーブルでの出店が楽しみです。
I became interested in her work after buying her zine at “here and there reading room” by Nakako Hayashi, held at DAILY SUPPLY SSS near Ikegami Station. The website of textum club, which is run as a group, is also full of interesting content, and I am looking forward to sharing a table with them.

seep bookの出版物、「bloom of the unseen」(momoco matsuda)の装丁の仕事を通して知り合いました。著者の背景からなるファッショナブルな部分と、肉体的な写真、印刷の荒々しさなどが混ざり、生きた花のような本だと思いました。印刷手法や製本の技術的な面で刺激を受けました。製本であったり、こういった出店で関わる事ができて嬉しく思います。
I got to know seep books through working on the book design of “bloom of the unseen” (momoco matsuda). I felt it was like a living flower, where fashionable elements from the author’s background, physical photographs, and the roughness of printing come together. I was inspired by their printing methods and bookbinding techniques. I am happy to be involved with them through bookbinding and also through this kind of fair.

東京を拠点に活動する「sheep books」からの推薦で今回参加することになった。彼らとは出版という共通点を通して関係を築いてきた。zineを中心に、その拡張性を実験しながら、あらゆるものがzineになり得る可能性を探る実践に魅力を感じている。実験的で自由な出版のあり方にぜひ触れてほしい。
We are participating this time through a recommendation from “seep books,” based in Tokyo. We have built a relationship with them through our shared interest in publishing. Centered around zines, they experiment with their possibilities and explore how anything can become a zine. We are drawn to this experimental and open approach to publishing, and we hope people will experience it.
