KIRTIは、東南アジア各地の新興現代美術シーンを探るアート・アーカイブおよびインタビュー・イニシアティブです。地域の出版環境の制約に応じて立ち上げられた「KIRTI」は、ローカルなアートスペースを通じて研究を非制度的に循環させるDIY出版物を制作しています。

本トークでは、KIRTI創設者のHunter P. Deerfieldが、東京藝術大学講師の江上健一郎と共に、プロジェクトの発展やアーカイブ・出版における代替的戦略について語ります。また、本イベントはNeutral Colorsより刊行された、プロジェクトのインタビューや画像をまとめたアンソロジー『KIRTI Vol.1』の刊行記念も兼ねています。

KIRTI is an art archiving and interview initiative exploring emerging contemporary art scenes across Southeast Asia. Developed in response to constraints on regional publishing, KIRTI produces a series of DIY publications that circulate research informally through local art spaces.

In this conversation, KIRTI founder Hunter P Deerfield joins Geidai lecturer Kenichiro Egami to discuss the development of the project and its exploration of alternate strategies for archiving and publishing. This event also marks the launch of KIRTI Vol.1, an anthology of interviews and images from the project, published by Neutral Colors.

    Hunter P. Deerfield

    Hunter P. Deerfieldは、インフォーマルな批評的交換の手段を主題に研究・執筆を行うリサーチャー／ライター。主に東南アジア本土の新たに立ち上がりつつあるアートシーンに焦点を当てた、実験的なアーカイブ／出版プロジェクト「KIRTI」を立ち上げる。アメリカ・バーモント州で育ち、シンガポールおよびロンドンで学んだ後、現在はホーチミン市を拠点に活動している。

    Hunter P. Deerfield is a researcher and writer exploring alternative methods of critical and artistic exchange. He is the founder of KIRTI, an experimental archiving / publishing project focused on emerging art scenes, primarily from mainland Southeast Asia. Raised in Vermont and educated in Singapore and London, he is currently based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietna

    Kenichiro Egami

    福岡生まれ。文化研究。東京藝術大学特任講師。2010年代のアジアにおけるアート・アクティビズムおよび自主管理空間を中心にリサーチを行う。執筆・ドローイング・写真などの活動に加え、近年はアートとアクティビズムに関するキュレーションにも取り組む。関わった主な展覧会に「脱境界：インターアジアの木版画実践」（2023）、「第8回横浜トリエンナーレ：野草」（2024）、「敘異記：亞際視野下的版畫實踐」（2025）がある。

    Born in Fukuoka. Cultural researcher and Specially Appointed Lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts. Research focuses on art activism and autonomous spaces in Asia during the 2010s. Works across writing, drawing, and photography, with recent curatorial projects including Transcending Borders: Inter-Asia Woodblock Print Practices (2023), The 8th Yokohama Triennale: Wild Grass (2024), and Narrating Differences: Printmaking Practices from an Inter-Asia Perspective (2025).
