TOKIO ART BOOK FAIR 2025は、TOKYO ART BOOK FAIRが企画する、新たなアートブックフェアです。第一回は、2025年5月2日(金)～4日（日）の3日間、芝パークホテルにて開催。アートブック、ZINEなどの出版物を通じて独自の活動を展開する、国内外のアーティスト、出版社、書店、ギャラリーなど、約55組が集います。

出展者による招待制の出展形式を採用し、「Library Hotel」をコンセプトに掲げる芝パークホテルの空間を活かしながら、国内外のインディペンデント出版シーンや、参加者同士の交流をより活性化することを目指します。

TOKIO ART BOOK FAIR 2025 is a new art book fair organized by TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR. Its first edition will take place at Shiba Park Hotel for three days from May 2 (Fri) to 4 (Sun), 2025. The fair will bring together around 55 groups of artists, publishers, bookstores, and galleries from Japan and overseas who are engaged in unique practices related to the publication of works such as art books and zines.

By adopting a format in which exhibitors invite other exhibitors and making full use of the Shiba Park Hotel’s unique “library hotel” space, we aim to invigorate the independent publishing scenes both within and outside Japan, while encouraging exchanges among participants.

    BOOK? by Atelier HOKO

    Atelier HOKO（アトリエ ホコ）は、シンガポールのデザイナー、Alvin HoとClara Kohによって2002年に設立されたインディペンデントな創造的実践です。本展は、デジタルメディアが私たちの物理的な世界との関わり方を変えつつある今、「本を読むとはどういうことか？」をテーマに読書という行為にまつわる人間のふるまいや感覚について、様々な「問い」を来場者に投げかけます。本のサイズや形状、紙の質感はどのように規定され、読書体験にどんな影響を与えるのでしょうか？見慣れたソフトカバーの雑誌が、豪華なハードカバーだったら？もし、本がページを閉じることを拒否したら？素朴な疑問や想像から生まれた様々な本が展開される本展を通して、「本」という存在を多様な視点から改めて見つめ直す機会を得ることができるでしょう。それは、懐かしさからではなく、私たちが「読む」ということの本質に立ち返るための試みです。

    Atelier HOKO is an independent creative practice established in 2002 and currently based in Singapore. BOOK? explores the question: What does it mean to read a book? At a time when digital media continues to reshape how we interact with the physical world, the exhibition raises a series of questions about the gestures, behaviours, and sensibilities involved in the act of reading.
    How are the size, shape, and texture of a book determined, and how do these elements affect our reading experience? What if a familiar softcover magazine were presented as a luxurious hardcover volume? What if a book refused to close its pages?
    Through a series of books emerging from simple questions and quiet speculation, the exhibition offers a chance to reconsider the nature of the book from multiple perspectives—not out of nostalgia, but as a way to reflect on the act of reading itself, and the sensibilities it awakens.

    2002年、Alvin HoとClara Kohによって設立されたAtelier HOKOは、人・物・空間の間で拡がる隔たりについて研究する独立した創造的な実践です。現実を新たな視点で見つめ直し、あらゆる現象に対して好奇心を持つことで、人間のオープンさと無知である力を探求します。

    Atelier HOKO (2002) is an independent creative practice that focuses on the study of the growing disengagement between people, things and space. The atelier hopes to cultivate in people, an open-ness and ability to un-know, bringing about a heightened curiosity towards all phenomena by taking a fresh look at reality. Founded by Alvin Ho and Clara Koh.
